We're Brittany and Anna, a mother-daughter photography duo. Our apprentice photographer and studio manager Anna is only 7 years older than the studio she now runs. Woodland Studios was first dreamed up in 2017 as a branch of her mom's personal photography brand, Brittany Sarah Photo, founded way back in 2013.
Brittany had big dreams that one day her passions might have a legacy bigger than her and her camera, and bigger than what could live within the Brittany Sarah Photo brand. Woodland Studios was created as a home for that vision to grow. The brand, and Brittany's photography, went into hibernation when she moved on to pursue community relations, brand, and design in a full-time role serving their local Co-op, but her dream remained.
Over the years, Brittany's been stopped in the grocery store or at community events by past clients wondering if she'll ever be back in the photography business, and a few years ago the spark of an idea ignited... when Anna was ready to help take on that project, the shutter could come back to life.
Now, Anna is breathing new life into the studio, ready not only to carry on her mom's legacy, but to help you hold onto your own family legacy.
Our sessions are always relaxed. We focus on documenting emotion and allowing real moments to happen. Sometimes this involves posing and then being a bit silly until some genuine expressions come out, and some sessions involve almost no posing, where we are able to just hang out in the background of an activity or regular life, capturing the angles, details, and interactions that show your real life in a beautiful light.
All sessions include travel up to 40 km from Barrhead or Fort Assiniboine, and a selection of your favourite images in high resolution by digital download. Additional images and print products are available for purchase in your proofing gallery.

Outdoor sessions are perfect to update your family’s living room gallery wall, celebrate an occasion like a graduation or birthday or to capture something beautiful for your annual greeting cards. Outdoor sessions are typically scheduled within 1-2 hours of sunset for the prettiest lighting conditions.
Basic outdoor sessions are scheduled on weekday evenings within 40km of Barrhead or Fort Assiniboine. The session fee includes up to one hour of photography and digital download of your favourite 10 images.
Outdoor sessions are perfect to update your family’s living room gallery wall, celebrate an occasion like a graduation or birthday, or to capture something beautiful for your annual greeting cards.
Deluxe outdoor sessions allow more time, and include more photos, making them perfect for an extended family, an outdoor adventure, a documentary-style storytelling session, or a grad, couples, or engagement session with outfit changes and multiple locations.
Proofing galleries for deluxe sessions include 60+ images, making them the perfect choice if you would like to create an album from your images.
Scheduling for deluxe sessions is more flexible than basic sessions, both in terms of time and location. Weekend bookings are available, and travel can go beyond our local region and include more than one photo location.

At home sessions capture you and your loved ones in your natural habitat. These sessions allow for more time, helping you relax to capture more candid and natural moments. At home sessions are perfect for candid newborn and family sessions, and to create an album that tells a bigger story about this moment in your lives.
Basic at home sessions include up to two hours of photography, and can be booked on weekends or on summer weekday evenings after 5:00pm. The session fee includes high resolution download of your favourite 20 images from your proofing gallery.
At home sessions capture you and your loved ones in your natural habitat. The deluxe at home and on the go sessions allow for even more time, allowing time to capture everyday moments or family adventures in a documentary style. These sessions are designed to create an album that tells a bigger story about this moment in your lives. The length of an at home session is scheduled based on the goals for the photos.
Deluxe at home and on the go sessions include up to four hours of photography, and are booked on weekends, with weekday availability possible by request. Deluxe at home sessions include your favourite 40 images from your proofing gallery.
At this time, Brittany is on site for all photo shoots, and takes the majority of the photos. The images you see in our portfolio at this time are mostly Brittany's previous work (maybe you recognize a few throwbacks in there with babies that are now middle schoolers). As Anna gains more experience interacting with clients during our sessions, we will transition to have her capture more of the photos, and as that happens, our portfolio and social media will reflect more of her work.

You know the saying, if you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes. That doesn't always work, but when there are scattered showers in the forecast, we don't need to reschedule to a whole different date. As your session date approaches, we'll keep an eye on the forecast and communicate your options. There is no charge to reschedule based on weather conditions that will negatively affect your photos, but we also encourage you to keep an open mind, we can't always guarantee a sunny evening, but we promise that varying conditions can create some magical photo moments.
Currently, additional images in your proofing gallery can be purchased for $15 each, or you can purchase every image in your gallery for an additional $200. These prices are subject to change, and adding images is only available while your proofing gallery is live.
